Professors James Murray and John Nunley of the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse have successfully developed a series of “pencast” lessons for introductory college economics. Based on the success of these units and the lessons learned in developing them, the two economists were given a Kazanjian Foundation grant to be used to develop pencasts for intermediate macroeconomics, labor economics, money and banking, and intermediate microeconomics. The units are fully tested at the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse before being placed on the econocast.net website.

Murray and Nunley have also developed and are continuing to expand an email listserve of college-level economics instructors “throughout the world” in order to stimulate the dissemination and use of the pencasts.
